He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Schmidt and Agnes Teichelman Schmidt; and his siblings, Alline Carlton, Rufus Schmidt and Edgar "Bobby" Schmidt.
He is survived by: his son Allen; his wife Beatrice Marugg; his daughter Darla Kepner (Rick) of Crossville, TN; and his grandchildren, Allen Schmidt (Carolyn) of Sugar Land, TX, Kyle Kepner (Becky), Lacey Steinhauer (Jason), Ryan Schmidt (Melissa), Nathan Schmidt (Carol) and Kevin Schmidt. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
