He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Scoggins, Sr. and Velma King Scoggins; his parents-in-law, Pat and Evie Ragsdale Martin; his sister-in-law Odelia Martin McGuire (Ocie McGuire); his nieces, Louann Martin and Cheryl Martin Winters; and his friend Bobby Gene Tidwell.
He is survived by: his wife Teresa Martin; his daughter Michelle Scoggins Thane (Marc) of Haskell; his granddaughters, Shalee Dunnam of Lubbock, Chelsie Thane Polk (Cody) of Clyde and Aerial Thane Turner (Joe); his great grandchildren, Tristan and Leyton Polk of Clyde; his brother-in-law Pat Martin (Jennie) of Archer City; his nieces and nephews, Ocie McGuire, Jr. (Tami) of Sulphur, LA., Pat Martin III (Teresa) of Archer City, Gwen McGuire Thompson of Sulphur, LA. and Donna Martin Weaver (Keith) of Lubbock; and his cousins, Charlene Mowell Bagby of Fort Worth, Todd Bagby (Rhonda) of Fort Worth and Torre Bagby (Amy) of Lipan.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Smith Family Funeral Homes (304 N 2nd St, Haskell, TX 79521). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Rochester Cemetery (1410 N Ave L, Haskell, TX 79521).
