He was predeceased by: his parents, John Loy and Mary Jane Farris; and his sisters, Ella Bertha Powell and Ida Lois McMurry. He is survived by: his daughter Denise of Ft. Worth; his wife Sue; his grandson John Loy Farris (Dariza); his great grandchildren, Landon and Alistar of Vail, CO; his grandson Jeremy Tucker Farris (Mary) of Amarillo; his nieces, Sherlon Ferguson (Darrell), Jo Ritchey (Wayne) and Ruth Wessels (Dennis); and his close friends, Ryan and Karla Hoehn.
