He was predeceased by: his sister Martha Ann Shirley. He is survived by: his wife Nancy McSwain; and his children, Ellen, Brian Phipps (Carol) of Shawnee, KS and Marcus Phipps (Lisa) of Harlingen, TX.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
