It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velia E. Guzman of Harlingen, Texas, who passed away on January 24, 2022, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Norberto Echazarreta and Amalia Echazarreta; her siblings, Norberto Echazarreta, Alberto Echazarreta, Edmundo Echazarreta, Juan Echazarreta, Carmen Echazarreta, Amalia Echazarreta, Maura Echazarreta and Sara Echazarreta; and her grandmother Sara Guevara Izaguirre.
She is survived by: her husband Guillermo A. Guzman, Sr.; her stepchildren, Guillermo Guzman, Jr. (Rachel) and Nora Sandra Guzman-Morato; her grandchildren, Alexandra Victoria Guzman, Andres Guillermo Guzman and Christina Nicole Morato; and her brother Eudo Echazarreta Azua. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
