He is survived by: his wife Carmen Garza; his sons, Israel, Sr., Ismael (Verna), Toribio, Jr. (Yvette), Arnulfo (Marisela), Alonzo (Melinda), Armando (Elizabeth) and Alejandro (Noelia); and his brothers, Heron, Sr., Silvestre, Jr. and Gregorio. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
