He is survived by: his daughter America Contreras; his former wife Eusebia Montero; his daughter Melissa Montiel; his granddaughter Sophia Alyssa Montiel; his sons, Rudy Contreras, III (Rose Marie) and Esteban Contreras (Jean); his former wife Victoria; his siblings, Gilbert Contreras (Paulina), Juan Manuel Contreras (Ida "Lulu"), Joel Contreras and Yolanda C. Mireles (Mingo); his brother-in-law Juan Varela; and his cousin Gloria Ramirez of California. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
