He was predeceased by: his father Guadalupe Cantu, Jr.; and his brother Guadalupe Cantu, III. He is survived by: his wife Dalia Cantu; his daughters, Noemi Cantu and Olga Kristina Cantu; his mother Merced Cantu; and his siblings, Blanca Garza (Rogelio), Juan Manuel Cantu, Linda Cantu, Belia Casillas (Lorenzo), Beatriz Cantu and Adan Cantu (Christy).
