He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesus Hipolito Cardenas and Mariana Saldana Cardenas; and his grandson Cutberto Mendoza. He is survived by: his wife Hortencia Cardenas; his daughters, Irma Fonseca (Hector R.), Mariana Rodriguez (Alfred), Rosalva Garcia (Joe), Ruby Lozano (Arturo) and Veronica Sierra (Gustavo); and his siblings, Ruben Cardenas, Jesus Cardenas, Reyna C. Arriaga and Ninfa Lopez. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren.
