She was predeceased by: her parents, Victoriano Sermino and Juanita R. Sermino; and her siblings, Frances Sermino, Lazaro Sermino, Esther Sermino, Victoria Vela, Jose Sermino, Teresa Mayorga and Victoriano Sermino.
She is survived by: her husband Obed Cortez; her daughters, Belinda Montemayor (Robert) and Yvette Martinez (Michael); her grandchildren, Robyn Montemayor, Jonathan Montemayor, Caleb Martinez and Anna Martinez; her great grandchild Jacob Ginter; and her siblings, Rosario Gutierrez (Ignacio), Eduardo Sermino and Gloria Perez. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Trinity Funeral Chapel of the Holy Spirit (1002 E Harrison Ave, Harlingen, TX 78550). A rosary was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Trinity Funeral Chapel (1002 E Harrison Ave, Harlingen, TX 78550). A procession was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church (1509 New Combes Hwy, Harlingen, TX 78586). A burial was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mont Meta Memorial Park Cemetery (26170 N Sam Houston Blvd, San Benito, TX 78586).
