He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Joseph and Elenora Young, Sr. (Lyssy); his siblings, Alfred Young, Sr. and Doris Legere; and his granddaughter Angela Lauren Young.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Miller; his children, Annette Burke (Mike) of Richmond, TX, Paula Young of College Station, TX and Paul Joseph Young, III (Tisha) of Harlingen, TX.; his grandchildren, Melanie Ortiz (Anthony) of Bangkok, Thailand, Tyler, Grampi, Lauren Freeman of College Station, TX and Courtney Young of Harlingen, TX; his great grandchild Riley Grace Burke of Katy, TX.; and his sisters, Florence Carmony and Joan Bartnesky. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
