She is survived by: her close friend Pedro Alvarez of Harlingen; her sisters, Elia Leal Cortez and Maria Luisa Herrera Cortez (Licha); her grandchildren, Marisa Maldonado, Veronica (Roni), Carlos Cortez, Jonathan Andrew, Pedro Israel Cantu (Petie), Julia Renee, Rebecca Ann and Marcos Isai Torres; and her great grandchildren, Lucas Alexander and Carter Elias Maldonado.
