He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan Francisco Flores and Maria Santos Jaramillo Flores; and his siblings, Ninfa Ramos and Jesus Flores. He is survived by: his wife Carmen Flores; his daughters, Thelma Isabel Vargas (Artemio), Alicia Flores (Frank Garza) and Cindy Castañeda (Johnny); his grandchildren, Manuel Vargas, Aimee Castillo (Adrian), Margarita Vargas, Juan Francisco Garza, Nasay Arzola (Luis), Adebesi Garza (Daniel Franco), Misty Garza (Rogelio Mendoza), Starlynn Garza, Andrue Castañeda, Zoe Castañeda (Javier Garcia) and Johnathan Castañeda; and his siblings, Norma, Geronimo, Gerardo, Enedina and Jose. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
