He was predeceased by: his mother Eva Cortez; and his siblings, Omar Cortez, Eleazar Cortez (Patch) and Lupita Brown. He is survived by: his siblings, Rosalinda Galvan (Gilbert), Marie Gracie Quintanilla (Danny), Placido Cortez Jr. (Esmeralda) and Norma Cortez; his wife Irma Casarez; and his children, Cindy, Jay, Juan Carlos, Romulo Cesar, Eva Idolina, Ester and Veronica. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and one great grandchildren.
