It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jose Cruz Tapia of Harlingen, Texas, who passed away on January 19, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Tapia. He is survived by: his children, Flor Valdez (Mario) of Harlingen, Texas., Mario Arturo Tapia (Ariana) of Harlingen, Texas., Norma Cortez (Sonny) of Harlingen, Texas., Leticia Mendez (Raul) of Harlingen, Texas. and Patricia Tapia of Harlingen, Texas.; his grandchildren, Deborah Sanchez, Cristina Valdez, Alyssa Nicole Tapia, Sonny Cortez Jr., Fabian Cortez, Miranda Mendez and John Patrick Delgado; his great grandchildren, Cristopher De La Fuente, Adrian Sanchez, Ian Sanchez, Cadence Sanchez and Amara Cortez; and his sisters, Consuelo Andrade and Juanita Bernal.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rudy Garza Funeral Home - Harlingen (1702 E Harrison Ave, Harlingen, TX 78550). A rosary will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at the Restlawn Memorial Park (14166 US-83 BUS, La Feria, TX 78559).
