He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria Guerra and William Thomas Estes; his former wife Guadalupe Coronado Guerra (Lupita) of Brownsville, Texas.; his children, Jose Anselmo Guerra, Jr. and Blanca Estela Guerra; his stepfather Eulalio Reyna; and his siblings, Benito Guerra, Basilia Reyna and Magdalena Leal.
He is survived by: his wife Juanita Galvan Guerra; his children-in-law, Carmen Najera and Isabel Rodriguez (late Jose Anselmo Guerra, Jr.); his children, Maria Teresa (Tita), Aguirre (Tony), David Felipe Guerra (Sylvia), Carlos Andres Guerra (Yvonne), Rita Ann Andarza (Joaquin), Amanda Alicia Maldonado (Gerardo) and Juan Gerardo Guerra; his brother Juan Reyna; and his stepchildren, Sylvia Olvera (Miguel), Romeo Garza, Jr. (Nora), Judge David Garza (Marisela), Diana Ramirez (Ruben), Reynaldo Garza and Nelda Garza. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home (1400 E Business 77, San Benito, TX 78586). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church (1000 E Stenger St, San Benito, TX 78586). A burial will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Buena Vista Burial Park (5 Mc Davitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521).
