He is survived by: his wife Shakuntala "Geeta" Mahbubani of Harlingen; his children, Vivek Jaikishin Mahbubani (Rosie) of Harlingen and Laju Mahbubani Aleman (Jose Jr.) of Weslaco; his grandchildren, Samina S. Aleman of Weslaco and Anayah A. Aleman of Weslaco; and his siblings, Manu J. Vaswani and Sunder P. Mahbubani. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
