He was predeceased by: his wife Flora D. Benavidez; his son Homero Benavidez; his grandchildren, Cedric N. Barajas, Ana Maria Camargo (Grandon Geno Serna) and Jerry Serna; and his siblings, Pedro Benavidez, Manuel Benavidez, Oralia Benavidez, Olga Benavidez, Leonardo Benavidez and Ofelia Benavidez.
He is survived by: his children, Oscar Benavidez (Alma), Gerardo Benavidez, Dora Benavidez, Frances Camargo, Alfredo Serna (Yolanda), Carmen Serna, Maria Benavidez (Rafael), Juan Serna (Cindy), Ofelia Barajas (Gerardo), Ramiro Gerardo Benavidez (Monica), Esmeralda Cisneros (Noe) and Salvador Benavidez (Cindy); and his siblings, Ofilia Cavazos, Estephanie Agudo, Rafaela Benavidez and Eugenio Benavidez. He is also survived by 50 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
