He is survived by: his wife Felipa Chaires Chavez of La Feria; his children, Ian Chavez of McAllen and Dion Chavez of La Feria; and his grandchildren, Ian Chavez II, Isaiah Chavez, Nathan Chavez, Jayden Chavez and Amber Chavez of McAllen.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rudy Garza Funeral Home - Harlingen (1702 E Harrison Ave, Harlingen, TX 78550). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Departing the Funeral Home (1702 E Harrison Ave, Harlingen, TX 78550). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (412 S C St, Harlingen, TX 78550). A burial was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at the Heavenly Grace Memorial Park (26873 White Ranch Rd, La Feria, TX 78559).
