She was predeceased by: her parents, Fructuoso Leal and Clemencia Garcia; her husband Carlos A. Cantu; and her siblings, Odilia Self, Olga De Los Santos, Raul Leal, Fructuoso Leal and Gil Leal.
She is survived by: her daughter Norma Garza; her son-in-law Danny; her son Carlos L. Cantu; her brothers, Hector Leal, Arturo Leal and Lionel Leal; and her caregivers, Dr. Sarhill, Dr. Diana Lozano, Anderson, Dr. Huen and Megan. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rudy Garza Funeral Home - Harlingen (1702 E Harrison Ave, Harlingen, TX 78550). A rosary was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Departing the Rudy Garza Chapel (1702 E Harrison Ave, Harlingen, TX 78550). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church (1509 New Combes Hwy, Harlingen, TX 78550).
