With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Elena F. Olivarez of Harlingen, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 6, 2024 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Timoteo Fonseca and Maria Mireles; her husband Juan Olivarez; and her siblings, Raul Fonseca, Herminia Villareal, Maria Reynero, Israel Fonseca, Ismael Fonseca, Esequiel Fonseca, Jesus Fonseca and Elvira Fonseca.
She is survived by: her children, Maria Garibay, Irma Grijalva (Thomas) and Juan Olivarez Jr. (JoAnn); and her siblings, Elodia Loredo, Eloisa Torres, Eliza Jimenez, Elida Elizondo, San Juana Flores (Pedro) and Martin Fonseca (Maria). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 12:00 PM and on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rudy Garza Funeral Home - Harlingen (1702 E Harrison Ave, Harlingen, TX 78550). A rosary was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 9:15 AM to 10:00 AM and at 10:00 AM. A burial was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at the Santo Nombre Cemetery.
