With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Edward E. Getner Jr. of Harlingen, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 10, 2025 at the age of 64. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Edward E. Getner Sr.; his sister Belinda Belcher; his brother-in-law Raul Garza; and his nephew Justin Vaughn. He is survived by: his mother Consuelo "Chelo" Getner; his wife Fermina "Mina" Sandoval-Getner; his sisters, Norma Cantu (Joe), Cynthia Garza and Sandra Rodriguez (Joe); his brother-in-law Robert Belcher; and his nieces and nephews, Joseph Cantu, Sandra Yvonne Martinez (Polo), Eddie Ray Belcher (Christina), Brianna Flores (Angel) and Melissa Rae Gorges (Meledy).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rudy Garza Funeral Home - Harlingen (1702 E Harrison Ave, Harlingen, TX 78550). A rosary will be held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church (1509 New Combes Hwy, Harlingen, TX 78550).
