He is survived by: his wife Dolores Champion Cavazos; his children, Alfonso Javier Cavazos and Amanda Cavazos; his granddaughters, Lauren Cavazos, Kristen Cavazos Medici and Gabriella Cavazos; and his siblings, Anastacio Cavazos, Jose Manuel Cavazos, Francisco Cavazos, Isabel Canales, Rosie Runge, Ninfa Laughlin, Clara Perez, Judy Schroder and Adriana Dwiggins.
