He was predeceased by: his wife Alicia C. Rivera; his son Domingo E. Rivera, Jr.; and his parents, Domingo Rivera and Celestina Rivera. He is survived by: his children, Rose Marie Gallegos (Aaron), Ruby Leal (Armando), Alicia Celestina Cortez (Arturo) and Florentino Rivera; and his grandchildren, Domingo E. Rivera III, Gilbert Manuel Rivera, Vanessa Lee Rivera, Joe Cruz Rivera, Leeana Mena, Crystal Lee Mena, Dora Lee Mena, Janie Lee Mena, Roberto Calderas Jr., George Barron Jr., Joe Angel Barron, Mario Alberto Rangel Jr., Destiny Nicole Cortez, Devin Matthew Cortez, Isaiah Jacob Cortez, Florentino Rivera Jr. and Isabella Marie Rivera.
