He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeannine Witt Earley and Beau Thomas; his siblings, Sandra Honeycutt Ashley and Kenneth Thomas; and the mother of his children Debbie Beddoe.

He is survived by: his wife Roberta; his children, Dennis Thomas (Christy), Dayna Ford (Jeremy) and David Thomas (Becca); his nephew Brandon Barr; and his brothers, Charles Thomas (Deanna) of Vanderpool and Bruce Thomas of Harlingen. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
