He was predeceased by: his parents, Filomena Sustaita and Jose Ruiz; his former wives, Carolina Liendo Ruiz and Adelina Aquines Ruiz; his children, Ray Anthony Ruiz and Fila Nava; and his brother Raymond Ruiz.
He is survived by: his wife Graciela A. Ruiz; his children, David Ruiz Jr., Martha Boyd, Jonnie Ruiz, Michael Ruiz and Anna Aganes Sierra; and his stepchildren, Anna Mendez, Simon Gutierrez, Kristen N. Ramirez, Norma Elisa Nieto Cooper and Juan Rene Nieto. He is also survived by 7 siblings, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
