He was predeceased by: his parents, Noble Hankins and Debbie Hankins; and his brothers, Bob and Jack. He is survived by: his wife Mary Carolyn Merritt; his children, Kelly (Elizabeth Mattson) and Dr. Linda Hankins; his grandchildren, Clayton and Erin Hankins; and his sister Dorothy Schultz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
