He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett Smelser and Rose Smelser; his siblings, Eleanor Smelser, Emmett Smelser and Carol Smelser Perry; and his children, Jason and Heather.
He is survived by: his wife Candiace Smelser; his children, Jeremy (Vanessa) and Niki (Stephen); and his grandchildren, Gaige (Hanna), Cameron and Carly.
