She was predeceased by: her son Adell Hicks. She is survived by: her children, Pattie L. Slaton (Otis), Elbert S. Burkes, Jr. (Cherise), Julie S. Nunez (Esteban), Marie "Toni" Gordon (Frank), Angela D. Burkes-Mott (Thomas), Duane Sanders and Ricki Austin; and her granddaughter Trinity Davis. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and countless family members and friends.
