He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Sonnenburg and Tina Sonnenburg (Belk); his wife Sydonia Sonnenburg; his son Jeffrey Sonnenburg; and his sisters, Lucille Berry and Eilene Gilley.
He is survived by: his children, Ray Sonnenburg, Jr. of Abilene and Fodie Powell of Abilene; and his siblings, Edwin Sonnenburg (Bobby) of Everman, TX and Ruth Lemons of Ft. Worth. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
