He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Melvin Simpson and Ethel Agnes Simpson; and his sister Norma Joyce Barrett. He is survived by: his significant other Alda; his daughters, Belinda Simpson of Marshall and Debbie Freeman of Marshall; his grandchildren, Michael Ratcliff (Chelsea) and Allison Ratcliff; his great grandchildren, Harper Ratcliff and Cannon Redding; and his siblings, Waylen Simpson, Bobby Simpson and Brenda Gatlin of Longview. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
