He was predeceased by: his parents, Effie Wilson and George Wilson; his former wife Peggy Jean Francis of Hallsville; his wife Dolores Whitehead Wilson; and his stepson Gary Francis.

He is survived by: his children, Shelley Carol (Richard Jones) of Hallsville and Kelly Don (Renee Wilson) of Cypress; his grandson Andrew Stroman (Lauren) of Oak Point; his great grandchildren, Isabela, Abel and Aurora; his grandson Stephen Stroman (Lindsay) of Copperas Cove; his great grandchildren, EmmaLeigh, Matthew, Maximus and Margaret; his grandchildren, Matthew Stroman of Hallsville, Bethanie Sahms (Nash) of College Station and Stephanie West of Union Grove; his great grandchildren, Adyn and Parker; his grandchildren, Tyler Wilson of College Station and Tatum Wilson of Cypress; his stepdaughter Denise Williams (Terry) of Longview; his granddaughter Rayven Walker (Alex); his great grandchildren, Silas, Axel, Sienna, Ozzie and Rocco of Flower Mound; his grandson Grayson Williams of Dallas; his stepdaughter Debbie McCarty (Treasured) of Maud; and his pet Sasha.

Visitation was held on Saturday, October 19th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (201 N Central St, Hallsville, TX 75650). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 19th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of East Texas Home Place in Tyler, Texas.
