He was predeceased by: his parents, Rebecca Ruth Aares and Karl Felician Aares; and his grandparents, Louise Aares, Ruth Otero-Servet, Asbjorn Aares and Jim Otero-Servet.
He is survived by: his wife Michelle Edwards; his sons, Caden Felician Aares and Colten Michael Aares; his siblings, Katherine Zuniga, Daniel Johnston, Matthew Johnston and Bobby Parker; his uncle Fred Aares (Lisa); his stepfather Robert Johnston; and his friend Michael McPherson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
