He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Bernard Anton Bruns and Anna Helena Frerichs; his wife Sylvia St. Croix; and his siblings, Alice Chadwell, Herbert Bruns, Evelyn Young and Margaret Valenta. He is also survived by his nieces from the marriages of his sisters and brother.
