He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Charles and Hertha Kathryn Winkler (Fritsch); and his son Ronald Wayne Winkler. He is survived by: his daughter Staci (Jamie Wenske); his wife Margaret Elaine Henderson of Weimar; his grandson Ethan Winkler; and his sister Shirley "Katie" Johnson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Witting Cemetery Association or Yoakum Scouting.
