She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank J. Appelt, and Wilhelmina Appelt, Sr. (Siecko); her husband Royce Richard Spies; her daughter Rebecca Lynn Spies; and her brother Frankie Joe Appelt Jr..
She is survived by: her son Lester Royce Spies (Barbara Susan Spies); her grandchildren, Robert, Randy, Rhonda, Ryan, Anna, Kristen and Michelle; her sisters, Doris Kalmus, Bettye Appelt, Dorothy Benoit and Linda Haas; and her nephew Kevin Bright. She is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kubena Funeral Home (507 N Main St, Hallettsville, TX 77964). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Peter Lutheran Church (100 N Promenade St, Hallettsville, TX 77964).
