He was predeceased by: his father William; his brothers, Oddie "Sonny", Bobby and Ronnie Smith; and his daughter-in-law Melissa Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Betty McGlaun; his children, David Lee Smith, Mikeal D. Smith and Lisa Annette Muirhead (Greg); his grandchildren, Corey Guthrie, Desiree Smith, Jonathan Smith and Michael Smith; his great grandchildren, Braeden Guthrie, Dominick Smith–Wheeler, Carter Smith and Damon Smith; his brothers, Harold Smith (Mollie), Jimmy Smith (Kathryn) and James Smith (Nancy); and his brother-in-law Garry McGlaun (Margaret).
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Legendary Baptist Church or Mabank.
