He was predeceased by: his parents, Gorden Stephens and Minnie Stephens (Thigpen); his son Dennis Gordon Stephens; his wife Evelyn Harvell Stephens; his sister Pauline Stephens; his son-in-law Marvin Edward LaRue; and his brother-in-law Robert Hall.
He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah LaRue of Groveton, TX and Evelina Zolman (Johnny Zolman) of Huntsville, TX; his grandchildren, Amber LaRue Hawkins (Matt Hawkins) of Groveton, TX, Jade Zolman Currie (Stephen Currie) of Conroe, TX, Lance Harvell LaRue of Lovelady, TX and Jared Larkin Zolman (Rachel Zolman) of Coldspring, TX; his great grandchildren, Reed Hawkins, Rhett Hawkins, Kohen Currie, Cora Zolman, Cambrie Zolman, Rollin Currie, Capri Currie and Jonathan Zolman; and his sister Lilian Hall of Lufkin, TX.
