He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett Thomas and Gladys Thomas (Evans); his wife Josie Thomas; and his sister Joyce Kestler. He is survived by: his children, Michael Yates and Jennifer; his granddaughter Amy Yates; his stepchildren, Frank, Jeanette Wojchowski, Glenda Hoes (Ernest) and Pat Tobias (Perry); and his nieces and nephews, Hope Thornbrough, Janett Gallegoes, Neicy Duke, Debbie Lenox, Dawn Favors, Rick Kestler and Dickey Kestler.
