Oates of Greenwood, Texas, born in Bonham, Texas, who passed away on June 22, 2020, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Bruce Oates Jr. and Sybil Jackson Oates; and his sister Charlotte Thompson. He is survived by: his sister Patty Barfield (Ronnie); his nieces, Sharyn Wycoff, Lisa Hamann (Chris), Shannon Payne (Jason) and Lori Guerin (Jerod); his great-nephews, Ryan Wycoff, Aaron Wycoff, Ethan Guerin and Matthew Guerin; and his aunt Betty Jackson.
