He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Jackson Ferguson and Martha Ruth Ferguson (Sherman); his daughter Marcia Dawn Ferguson; and his siblings, Edna Ferguson, Mary Erspamer, Verdinell Shriver, Evelyn Patman, Bonnie Brazzell, Bettie May, Herbert, Louis and Glenn Ferguson.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Elizabeth McLaughlin; his daughters, Beth Clifton (Jim) of Whitehouse, Texas, Paula Brinkley (Lannis) of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Dianna Mitchell (Larry) of Quitman, Texas and Jan Weddle (Robert) of Greenville, Texas; his great grandchildren, Cade Mitchell (Megan), Kyle Williams (Kendyl), Grace Gaertner, Makayla Mitchell, Noah Thomas, Cash Williams, William Lucas, Jr., Elizabeth Gaertner, John Lucas, Emma Thomas, James Lucas, Julianne Jones, Kathryn Jones and Erica Brinkley; his great great grandchild Kolten Williams; and his siblings-in-law, Joyce Bayless of Rockdale and Dr. Paul McLaughlin (Mildred) of Douglass. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Charitable donations in Boyd's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity that was near and dear to his heart since losing his daughter Marcia when she was three years old.
