He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyd Andrew and Ruth Esther Lapp; his former wife Gail Lapp; his son Jim Lapp; and his siblings, Esther Lois Kirkendall, Carol Joy Graber, John Philip Lapp and David Levi Lapp.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Gail Hamby; his son Doug Lapp; his grandchildren, Jessica Lapp, Jordan Lapp, Chloe Lapp, Hudson Lapp and Abigail Lapp; his great grandchild Peyton Lloyd; and his siblings, Joseph Andrew Lapp, Sara Jane Janzen and Stephen Boyd Lapp.
