With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jerry D. Smith Sr. of Grapevine, Texas, born in Fort Worth, Texas, who passed away on July 30, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Jefferson Smith and Edith Oleta Smith (Daniel); his brother Horace Hugh Smith; and his great grandchild Jonathan Isaac Janca. He is survived by: his wife Frances Kay Smith (Garth); his daughter Cynthia Kay Janca (Smith); his grandchildren, Rebekah Naomi Nelson (Janca), Elisabeth Abigail Janca, Jessekah Tamar Janca, Melynda Hamlin, Morgan Price and Jaedyn Kay Smith; and his great grandchildren, Joannah Nicole Nelson, Chandler Raye Hamlin and Briar Rose Jones.

May God give you peace and comfort during this time. It was a blessing to know both Jerry and Kay. As we journey through life, we never really know how much God impacts us.
