He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Thomas and Lota Burrus (Cotton); his brother Swan Thomas "Tom" Burrus; and his wife Kay. He is survived by: his children, Kevin Burrus (Jo) of Paradise, Cindy Burrus, Keith Burrus (Lisa) of Grandview, Karen Burrus Kinnibrugh, Ian Punches of Itasca and Sam Thomas Burrus (DeAnn) of Sanger; his grandchildren, Holly Stump, Justin Burrus, Shannon Sanders, Whitney Ferrell, Windi Kay Ward, Katy Heileman, Kylie Jimenez, Joshua Thomas Burrus, Matthew Gaisbauer and Patrick Gaisbauer; his nieces, Amanda Burrus Talaat and Mary Ellis Langford; his brother-in-law Christian Boldt; and his grandsons, Josh Burrus, Bo Ward, Micah Stump, Will Heilemann, Tye Kinnibrugh and Chad Ferrell. He is also survived by twenty-two great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Upon Kay's passing, Bob returned to Grapevine where he remained active in the Rotary Club, the Grapevine Historical Society, and the Grapevine Church of Christ until COVID hit in 2020.
