He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Deacon John David Mitchell and Rodessa Annette Allen Mitchell; his wife Natalie Kathleen Harris; his children, Amanda Mackenzie Mitchell (Brett Leghorn), Samantha Erin Mitchell and Dwayne Bernard Okpaise (Kristin); his grandchildren, Dwayne Okpaise Jr. (Brice Roberts), Derick Okpaise, Hayden James Leghorn and Taylor Leghorn; his siblings, Jewell Faye Norman, Pamela W. Mitchell, Barbara A. Mitchell, John D. Mitchell II (Jane) and Gregory Mitchell; his stepbrother Jefferson Gachet; his stepmother Rosa Gachet; and his uncle James Melvin Mitchell.
