He is survived by: his wife Jonell Alfred of Tyler; his children, Mae Smith (John) of Hudson, Melvin Alfred (Sherry) of Conroe, Connie Currie (Clifford) of Kennard, Kay Nelms (Pete) of Tyler, Jason Alfred (Pam) of Tadmor and Jason Spivey (Tracye) of Tyler; his grandchildren, Chad, Emily Smith, Brad, Ashley Currie, Nicole, Jason Carter, Heather Currie, Brian, Alex Nelms, Megan Nelms, Ben Alfred, Jonathan Parker, Christopher Parker, Tyler Spivey, Katye Spivey and Brett Spivey; his great grandchildren, Claire, Lila, Anna Carter, Lacey Currie, Peyton Smith and Thea Nelms; and his sisters, Bonnie Duvall of Grapeland and Betty Rowland of Buffalo. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
