He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Cook and Hallie Ann Powell Cook; his son Garland Glenn Cook; and his brother Edward Monroe "Jake". He is survived by: his wife Novie Cook; his daughters, Lynell Cook Pinkerton, Tamara Maywald and Rita Cook Basham (Kirby); his stepson Gary Maywald; his grandsons, Bryce Basham and Jarrod Pinkerton; and his sister-in-law Alice Cook.
