Though James may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Cal D. Staggs and Brunette Owens Staggs; and his brother Larry Staggs. He is survived by: his wife Mary Staggs of Grand Saline; his children, Calvin Staggs (Shayla) of Oklahoma, Tony Staggs (Britney) of Ohio and Renae Deffes (Steve) of Canton; and his stepchildren, Calvin Ray of Lubbock and Sandi Matranga (Patrick) of Tyler. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
