He was predeceased by: his parents, George Thomas and Christine McKnight Brittain; his wife Judy Ann Evans Brittain; and his brothers, William "Wink" Brittain and Don Brittain.
He is survived by: his sons, Waylon Brittain (Danette) of Grand Saline, Toby Brittain of Grand Saline, Dale Brittain (Dawn) of Winnsboro and Robert Brittain of Grand Saline; and his sister Sandra Harris of Grand Saline. He is also survived by six grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; and numerous other relatives and friends.
