He is survived by: his wife Johnnie Ruth Pipes; his children, Charles Pipes (Jeannie), John Pipes, Stephen Pipes (Kitty) and Carla Pipes Zimmerman; and his siblings, Mable Stallings (James), Larry Johnson and Bryant "Dino" Stanford (April). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
